Same design, different colours

I made these cards the other weekend, I liked the simplicity of the design that I made them in a couple of different colours, I used the scalloped circle nesties for the aperture, that seems to be the only way I use my nesties now lol, I love the effect, hope you agree.

Back from my holiday in Menorca

Well I've been away and come back, doesn't time fly when you are enjoying yourself.

I had a lovely two weeks on the lovely island of Menorca, we stayed at the resort of Cala'n Forcat at the Hotel Los Delfines, the weather was beautiful, apart from the last two days when it was overcast and it rained on the last night, but you can't ask for much at this time of year.

I had my first experience of being stung by a bee while I was there, not something I wish to do again I might add, cos it hurt lol, anyway I was in much better condition than the bee after it.

I made a couple of cards before I went away and didn't get round to putting them on here so thought I would do that now, I am a bit naughty though as one of them should have been on it's way to a friend of mine in America, but I forgot to post it.......ooooops, I'm sure I will be forgiven....hopefully, anyway hope you like them.

CB Card Swap Card (Magical and Glittery)

Here is the card I made for the card swap card over on the Crafts Beautiful Forum.
The theme was magical and glittery, I'm afraid I don't normally do fairies and things,
not that I don't like them, it's just I can never seem to get them to go together,
anyway I had a try at this one and think it worked ok, I quite like it and so did the person I sent it too.

This first card was made using my new circle scalloped nestabilities, I wanted to use bright spring colours and green and yellow came to mind, the colours are really fresh.

The second card came about by accident, when I cut the green card for the first card, I didn't realise that I had cut a square card and that the 'hole' that was left could actually be used to make another card, but that's just what I did.

I stamped and embossed the front of the card, then placed acetate behind the aperture, then added a butterfly and some flowers, and voila I had made another card from my nesties.

I'm hoping to make some more of this kind of card as a lot of people have said they like it, and I'm hoping that when I come to do another that it turns out just as well as my 'flukey' one.

Well I finally managed to get round to having a go with my new toy, this is the end product.

I looked at a few videos before even taking it out of the box so that I had an idea of how to use it.

Well I don't think it has turned out too bad, but I must get different sizes of wires (more shopping lol) I did find it a bit of a pain cutting all the individual papers to go inside as I used my own size to make this up, so if anybody has got any hints on how to do it quicker then please let me know, it's ok if you do the size from Zutter as you can buy them ready made, had a look at the Dreamkutz, but wow is it expensive, so don't think that will be falling into my shopping basket lol.

I don't know how she knew that purple and lilac are my favourite colours cos that's just what she sent when she sent me some lovely papers.
The Tilda card she made me is gorgeous too, so is her ATC with Tilda, her very first one she made.

run over there now and have a look, he is gorgeous to work with, the colours of the papers are really beautiful, (sorry my camera isn't doing justice to the lovely colours), they are better in real life.

This is the first time I've actually made a card using downloads from another blog, but I loved them straight away and just had to play with them.

I think he is so versatile he can be used for all sorts of different occasions, have fun with him.

I was asked to make a card for someones grandaughter who is 9, I was thinking of all the lovely girly things I could make one with, then I got told that she wanted a football card...yuck, anyway I did the best I could with this one, couldn't think of a way to make it girly, so just stuck the normal footy card, the grandmother was over the moon with it and that's all that matters.

Well I finally managed to get a few cards made at the weekend, the house is usually so full on a Saturday that I don't get time, but this Saturday was different, a little quieter, so my daughter and I took the opportunity to get busy, these are the results.

This one I used with some lovely papers I got from my Secret Santa, Stef (Skylark) from the CB Forum, they are beautiful, I really didn't want to cut into them, I'm sure there will be a few people reading this thinking, yes I know just what you mean, lol, the colour is beautiful.

Time to update again

Well I can't believe it's been so long since I updated my blog, time just seems to run away with me.

I suffer with depression and it hit me quite bad for a few months, but I seem to be getting over the worst of it now, so I won't dwell on it.

I have been away on holiday to the lovely island of Menorca, it is such a beautiful island, we usually go there twice a year, I love it, roll on May.

Well it's that time of year again, Christmas!!!!, hope all of you are all ready, I'm not far off now, still got quite a few cards to make, but with the help of my daughter I'm sure I will get there, she has made a few of the cards I'm going to put on here, there's nothing we like more than to sit and craft together.

Anyway enough of me, time to put some cards on for you to have a look at, with me feeling down my inspiration seems to have deserted me, I'm not altogether very happy with the cards, but I'm sure whoever I give them too will appreciate them and not look at them with the critical eye that we crafters do (well I hope not anyway lol).

Where does the time go, I thought I would have been able to keep up to updating, but time just seems to fly, anyway, here it is......are you ready for a nap.....

Well I will go back in time to just a few weeks ago when it was my Birthday, June the 24th, I received some lovely goodies from my family and my friends on the Crafts Beautiful Forum.

I got 2 lovely bunches of flowers, some yummy chocolates, 2 teddy bears, 2 Rich Man Poor Man DVDs, who remembers them.....I haven't watched them yet, and some money, so I didn't do too bad.

I have put all the lovely cards on here that I received from everyone on the forum, sorry I can't name everyone of them now, the memory isn't too good now that I'm a year older, lol.

I have kept them all and when I get my bedroom decorated I am going to display them on the wall, I will post pics on here when that gets done, although excactly when that will be, I don't know as I have other rooms to decorate first.

I have also put pics of cards that I have made for birthdays and for challenges, enjoy having a look.

What a great weekend!!!

I had a great weekend as usual, Saturday is a day for family in my house, most of my children and grandchildren come over to see me, we always have fun and the house is full of laughter, we sit and chat and play games and sometimes we even do a bit of crafting, I love to see what children make when you put a lot of goodies in front of them.

This Saturday was a bit different though as I was banned from going into my craft room as 2 of my sons girlfriends decided they wanted to make me a card for my birthday, it's a good job I had the grandchildren here to keep me occupied lol, the girls seemed really pleased with what they had made, and I was so touched when I saw the envelopes and they had addressed them to MUM, altogether now Awwwww...

I was really made up when I posted on the CB forum that I had started a blog, the comments I got from all the girls on there really boosted my confidence and I would like to thank them all for that, you are all wonderful.

I was going to try and fit in a bit of cardmaking today, but once again I had visitors, so that plan went out the window, I think I may have to start the night shift if I want to make cards, that way I won't get disturbed with visitors or the phone ringing lol.

Well that was my exciting weekend, I will try and update again soon, I have a lot of cards to make over the next few days, hopefully I will get them done, fingers crossed.

My first entry on my blog

Well here I am trying to set up a blog as it seems to be the in thing at the moment, to say I'm nervous is an understatement, but I'm sure I will get the hang of it.

I will probably be asking for a lot of help from my crafting friends over in the Crafts Beautiful Forum, I hope they will be patient with me, and gentle too lol.

I really hope I don't bore you all too much, I don't really do anything exciting, but I will try and write a little something each day.

Today started off really well, I got a delivery from the postman with items I won on ebay, it was like christmas, opening all the lovely packets, I have had some good bargains from there and some lovely things.

I managed to do a bit of crafting as well, that's a first for me lately, I get a lot of crafters block and it is soooo frustrating, especially when I have all these lovely things to play with, I think I'm just spoilt for choice lol.

Well that's about it for now until I get the hang of this.
